I think this needs to be addressed before Geno Atkins goes out there and pulls $20mil.
1.) there arent even 40 starting DTs in the league with so many 3-4 Ds and rotational lines 2.) DT is next to useless and there are only about 5-8 useful ones. 3.) The premium on useful DTs will be so high that reasonable owners will decide to bank on zeros rather then spend $10+mil. 4.) with the flex there will be a higher chance that teams can be filled during bye weeks
This needs to just be done, IMHO, or put to a poll ASAP.

Buffalo usually rolls in and out 3-4 DT's just themselves

Same for the Bears ... Melton, Paea, Toenia, Nate Collins, and even Amobi Okoye at times.

I agree not enough dts. You need at least 96 DT's in order to fill for bye weeks. Not to mention some people are going to hoard more than 3 so you would need at least 100 viable DT's. Make one spot a flex spot and I think you have a good deal. Should do the same thing with Safeties.

In one of my other leagues they have down lineman, linebackers, and defensive backs. this would increase the players to the point of flex without being flex.

Just do LB, DL, and CB's - thanks Gremlin, I noticed the 2 DT requirement and didn't like it, but thought it was too late and more importantly already thought out

I rather like having IDP positions (DE, DT SS, CB LB) but I agree there might be not be a real need for two DTs. I think a D Flex spot would be excellent.
I'm not a big fan of Kickers either. But it beats having a Head coach position or Punter position.

Just wanted to say sorry to those who seem disgruntled I thought Matt Ryan @ $16 was a steal (man crush) Didn't realize I had won Ryan so bid on Rodgers and Brady hoping to get at least 1 But to be honest it does look like a dick move to re-up the Colston bid I thought it was a cheap enough price to bid on him again Didn't think about it would reset the timer and how people would react It was an owner's move, not an intentional "dick move" Just wanted to say sorry and explain my point of view Also I'm VERY new to auctions So take that into account

and then you post brees for 14 mil, yeah right. you were on all day and say you didnt see you won matt ryan? dont believe that either. its not that i care about the players your bidding on its caring more about fucking up a franchise in the league that some poor sap may be stuck with in the future, if we could even find a guy that would take a team with 2-3 expensive qbs that just eat salary cap. the jags franchise is at stake too at this point really imo

I'm really confused to why I woke up to see that the D had changed from 2DE, 2DT, 3LB, 2CB, and 2S to now being 2DE, 1DT, 3LB, 2CB, 1s. Why was this change made, and specifically, why drop multiple defenders without league consultation? The purpose of this thread was to offer the suggestion of dropping 1 DT and using a flex instead, still keeping 11 defensive starters. There is a logical reason for requesting to only be required to start one DT. I do not see any reason why we would not start 2 Safeties.
tl;dr: Why change two D positions after the auction has started? That was not even what was requested here, or anywhere from what I have seen.

I see this lineup posted by Commish on the CHatanGo: I see in this chat where crest said: 20 starters--1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex Off (RB/WR/TE), 1 PK, 2 DE, 1 DT 1 DE/DT, 3 LB, 2 CB, 1 S, 1 CB/S
But then this lineup posted on MFL chat: all OK--Defence now made up of 1 DT, 2 DE, 3 LB 2CB & 1S
Just need clarification, and the decision needs to be posted in the forum and MFL, and emailed to the league.
