Jaguars Trade: 2013 1.27 2013 3.10
Lions Trade: Antonio Cromartie CB
1.27 I think thins out more than you would think
the 2013 3rd is pretty much useless to Jax as he can't really pick there. If he gives up this first, he can then draft his 2nd rd pick.
I feel its the 1.27 for cromartie which is kind of overpaying, you could get a pretty decent rookie corner at that spot I would imagine. I think the gamble comes down to a seasoned vet who is still young 28, or a rookie. I don't feel that the overpay is sooo much that it warrants a veto but just throwing out my 2 Cents. I don't see this move greatly affecting either franchise in such a way that it screws over their team or the league, which is what I thought TAB was for?

This is to the TAB members. I did see your Point about this trade. The more I looked at it and thought about it, I came to a different reason for not liking it. I would like to hear your reasons as to how this is not fair and what would have to change to make it fair?

Cromartie, a CB in a crowded and ever changing position is never worth a 1st and a 3rd, maybe just one of those picks but both is overkill and WAY lopsided for me to even consider approving

Texans GM, thanks for your explanation. I think it would have worked If their was picks coming back to him next year or later.

I think Cromartie for the 3.10 would be fine. If it was just that, I'd have no problem. But no way is Cromartie worth a late 1st and an early-ish 3rd.
If someone is trading a 1.27 alone for a CB, they should be getting a better CB in return. Top 10, maybe top 15 at worst. Maybe top 20 in this case, since Jacksonville has cap issues. At 1.27 you can draft an incredible player and probably get one of the first 2 or 3 CBs off the board and give them a long deal. And, 2013 is a particularly strong year for CBs to boot.
I'm generally against rejecting trades, and I generally will defend an owner's right to make a bad trade. But in this case we have an owner with a history of having trades rejected by TABs because he gave too much away, particularly when his own team's picks were involved in the deal. This is unfortunately another one of those occurrences, IMO.
Oh, and Buffalo? For you to say that the draft "thins out" by the time the 1.27 comes around? That's a wee bit naive.

A good draft class last yr got pretty thin toward the end of the first, the rest was shooting in the dark, hoping for a future starter. The class this year fantasy wise is not up to par with last hence my comment.
